This position focuses exclusively on trailer systems rather than vehicle engines. At our Specialist Trailer Services depot in Tuxford, we specialise in the servicing, repair, and maintenance of heavy-haulage and abnormal-load trailers.

We’re looking for hands-on technicians who take pride in doing a job properly. Whether you’re already a trailer expert or a skilled mechanic looking to move into a specialist field, we provide the environment and the training to make you a master of the "heavy" side of the industry.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Hands-on Variety: You’ll be working on everything from standard trailer running gear to specialist heavy-haulage equipment like Nooteboom, Goldhofer, Faymonville, and Doll.
• The "Full" Service: We believe in doing the job right, from greasing and brake testing to full MOT prep.
• Rebuilds & Repairs: You’ll get the satisfaction of stripping trailers back to the chassis and fixing any faults you find.
• Systems Work: You’ll get stuck into braking systems, suspension, and hydraulics.
• Problem Solving: You’ll work closely with our stores team to identify and order the right specialist parts for each unique repair.
• Out & About: To keep things varied, you’ll occasionally attend trailer-related breakdowns when a customer needs our expertise on-site.

We don't expect you to know every specialist system on day one. We have a dedicated In-House Training Specialist who is here to get you up to speed.

• Learn the Kit: Get hands-on training on world-class abnormal-load trailers.
• Build Your Skills: We provide the support you need to transition from a general technician to a trailer specialist.
• No Pressure: If you’ve got the right attitude and basic mechanical skills, we’ll teach you the "specialist" part of the job.

What You’ll Bring

• Experience: Proven experience specifically working on HGV trailers or heavy commercial plant.
• Willingness to Learn: If you don't have experience with specialist heavy-haulage trailers yet, we want to hear from you if you have a "can-do" attitude and a genuine desire to learn the trade.
• Mindset: A reliable and careful approach with a strong understanding of trailer-specific gear.
• Teamwork: The ability to work well as part of a team and support others when needed.
